Applications are open for the Global Mental Health Fellowship!
💡 The Global Mental Health (GMH) fellowship is a 6-week program taking place on campus during the evening of a weekday. The fellowship requires a time commitment of around 3 hours a week, though it is not structured like a class; it is rather a space for students to come together to discuss and learn from each other. During the fellowship, participants learn about the most effective global mental health initiatives and most neglected problems associated with the topic while exploring impactful and innovative solutions. Using the principles of effective altruism, we’ll explore the most effective ways to improve global mental health on a micro and macro level. Participants will receive a certificate after the completion of the fellowship.
🌍 We’ll cover topics such as the global burden of mental illness, the social determinants of mental health, and the main challenges faced during research and implementation. We will discuss how effective current treatments are and explore promising new interventions. By reading relevant literature and having interactive discussions, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the field and engage with other motivated participants.
🧡 The program is free, and no previous knowledge is required (even non-psychology students are welcome!).
📍The Fellowship will be held on campus, most likely in the Langeveld building.
⌚The Fellowship starts on the 24th of April and will be happening on Thursday evenings. The expected time commitment is around 3 hours per week.
